Dance Movement Project

In late 2022 I began a project related to Dance Movement taking advantage of the repeat, stroboscopic, mode of my Godox V1 flash units. I first tested the concept as part of a couple of art model sessions, then continued it by recruiting dancers, and models with dance experience. Each image uses a black background, a single Godox V1 head in an Angler Fastbox 24, and 6 exposures in 1 1/2 seconds.

The Bed in the Morning

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic I saw and photographed much, inside and outside of my home. As this continued, I began to see how the shape of the covers on our bed, and the light in the room, changed each day. I decided to capture this over 10 contiguous days and see if it had any visual interest. I also decided to cap that sequence with one of the made bad, the way people would normally expect it to be seen. We found it fascinating how different the shapes are.

July-August 2021 Trips

In later July and early August, 2021, my wife Deb Kmetz and I traveled to the Tucson, AZ and Boulder, CO areas to explore nature and, especially, bird photography. In the Tucson area we hired Richard Fray, a local bird guide, to give us an expert view. Here are a small sampling of the photographs we made.
